I was initially drawn to the WATCH Certificate and Diploma courses as it was the only facility to offer in-person training in Western Australia in 2023/24 and I felt I would have a more comprehensive experience learning in-person as opposed to on-line.

My expectations were exceeded as the course covers not only all aspects of hypnotherapy but the therapeutic process in its entirety, from start to finish. This allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in effective therapy and how important a healthy therapeutic relationship is in achieving successful outcomes.

I enjoyed and learnt so much while studying both the Certificate and Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy with Emma Stewart at WATCH. I loved the in-person training and the practical sessions, where we practised and learnt hypnotherapy, counselling and psychotherapy skills and gained valuable feedback from both Emma and our fellow students. I also found the theory and research behind what we were learning fascinating.

After the in-person training, I learnt further skills and gained confidence in my abilities by carrying out the case studies and participating in the group supervision sessions.

Emma has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of hypnotherapy, counselling, psychotherapy, couples counselling and sex therapy and was able to offer many wonderful insights and tips for being a good therapist. Having initially trained as a high school teacher, she is a skilled and wonderfully supportive, teacher and course facilitator.

My biggest takeaway from the courses was the importance of focussing on individual clients, trying to understand how they perceive the world and how to tailor scripts and sessions to their particular needs. I am amazed at how transformative hypnotherapy can be and I am excited about working as a hypnotherapist and counsellor and empowering clients to lead better lives.
